Vintage Pens: Sheaffer Sovereign
Vintage Pens: 1927 Sheaffer Sovereign
Enjoy a doubly rare treat with our Sheaffer Sovereign fountain pen. The Sovereigns were the only Sheaffer snorkel pens to feature a metal cap with wavy lines for decoration. Plus, sage green is one of the rarer colors to find in the snorkel lines. Ours is restored to good working order with a new point seal and O-ring. (The sac was in good working condition.) The two-tone 14k gold F3 nib looks as if it is in mint condition. It writes an extra-fine line with a little feedback, which is no worse than every extra-fine nib. Works great. The cap and barrel both show significant signs of light-surface wear. No cracks or deep scratches, but this pen was clearly a daily user back in the day. Still, it is really hard to see most of the wear at arm's length. Click the headline for closeups. 14cm capped.
