Vintage Pens: Parker 61 Flighter
Vintage Pens: 2106 Parker 61 Flighter
Parker's last really cool filling system of the fountain pen era is the capillary filler on this Parker 61 Flighter. Simply unscrew the barrel to expose a Teflon-coated tube that has a plastic insert that soaks up ink, and dip the tail of the tube in ink. Wait a few seconds, and it is full. Your first fill might require you to dip the nib in ink afterward to prime it and get the flow started. We flushed this pen until it ran clear. The cap and barrel have some light to moderate scratches. Click the headline to see a close up of a deep scratch on the hood behind the nib. The tip of the hood has some slight warps and scratches. We had to super glue the inset arrow back into place. The original 14k gold nib writes a nice, fine line. 13.3cm capped.
