Vintage Pens: Waterman Emblem

Vintage Pens: 2271 Waterman Emblem
Era: 1940-1949
Price: $99.99
Behold the Waterman's update of the slip cap. After the hard-rubber era ended, Waterman caps were screw caps. In the 1940s, Waterman began offering it as an option. Waterman Emblem pens came with either a screw cap or a slip cap. We restored this Waterman Emblem with a new ink sac. It is an elegant standard size black pen with gold-plated trim. There are no cracks where the pocket clip bolts to the top of the cap, but there is a hairline starting in the lip of the cap. There are a couple of deep scratches in addition to the light wear of the cap and barrel. However, the black looks sharp and shines through most of the wear. BEST is the SEMI-FLEX 14k gold nib. It isn't a wet noodle, but it can go from extra fine to about a 1.1mm width. Click the headline for a close-up. 13.8cm
