Vintage Pens: Sheaffer Crest*
Vintage Pens: 2586 Sheaffer Crest*
Sheaffer Crest snorkel fountain pens are among the rarer variations of the famous pens, but, unfortunately, this isn't a true Crest. We found it at a married set. A rare gold-filled Crest cap and a Clipper body. How can you tell the difference? Crest pens had two-tone 14k gold conical Triumph nibs. Clippers had the same nib in "Palladium Silver." Yet, even this nib is a little rarer as it has the cursive script imprint. Better yet, it is a buttery smooth medium point. The only flaw in the cap is a dimple above the white dot. The barrel has only light wear. We restored the pen with a fresh ink sac, O-ring and point seal. 14.1cm capped.
