Vintage Pens: LeBoeuf #8
Vintage Pens: 2905 LeBoeuf #8
Among the most sought vintage pens are oversized LeBoeuf pens...such as this one. Although there is some speculation about LeBoeuf being the first company to successfully create fountain pens using celluloid tubing (not rod stock), there is no denying the stunning beauty of their early efforts! Fully restored with a new ink sac and all of its original parts, this is a sleeve filler. The back half of the barrel slides back to reveal what Parker fans might think of as an aerometric squeeze filler. Its pearl-and-black design is in amazingly good condition with a few spots of discoloration you see in the photo. (Click headline for close-ups.) No cracks! A little clip brassing. There is a deep scratch around the tail and a wear mark where the lip of the cap rests against the barrel. Otherwise, only light wear. The large size 8, 14k gold nib writes a medium line with a slightly flattened tip that gives it some line variation! Technically, it even has a tiny bit of flex. 13.4cm capped.
