Vintage Pens: Eclipse Fountain Pen
Vintage Pens: 3115 Eclipse Fountain Pen
Oversized Eclipse pens from the 1920s are getting more difficult to find. However, we are happy to offer this handsome model in black. It does not appear to be hard rubber! We warmed it up and gave it a sniff. It definitely didn't have a smell. It is restored with a fresh ink sac. We think the most unique part about this vintage pen is that the brand Eclipse is written in a script font on the pocket clip! No cracks. No engravings. The pinstripes-and-squares pattern is a little worn in places. Scratching and brassing appear heavily on the cap band and lightly on the clip. Its 14k gold Warranted nib appears to be a size 4 or 5. The nib has a little hook downward, but it writes a great, smooth semi-flex extra-fine to 1mm. 13.5cm capped.
