Vintage Pens: Waterman Commando
Vintage Pens: 3143 Waterman Commando
As no fountain pen wears underwear, you could say they all go commando, but this is actually a Waterman Commando. The second world war inspired the model name, no doubt. We replaced its ink sac, and it is in good working order. It is a surprisingly attractive pen with only some light wear from use. If you look extra super closely, you will spy a hairline crack only a millimeter long coming out of the clip bolt area in back of the cap. The yellow tail bauble is free of fractals and krazing. The size 4ish 14k gold Waterman nib writes a fine to .9mm wide line with semi-flex ability. It catches just a tad at the top of ascenders. 12.4cm capped.
