Vintage Pens: Sheaffer Craftsman
Vintage Pens: 3401 Sheaffer Craftsman
In 1945, war rationing had knocked gold and most metal supplies down to a scarcity for non-war-related items. The Sheaffer Craftsman made lemonade out of lemons by limiting the cap band trim to a scant line around the lip. Nevertheless, our vintage pen is still a handsome devil in a straited green design that remains as vibrant as early summer. You'll find a strong impint on the barrel, too. Light wear from use is barely noticeable. We restored the pen with a new ink sac. Plus, you can see through the section to check the ink level. Its two-tone, Feather-Touch nib of 14k gold writes a wet fine line. 12.6cm capped.
