Vintage Pens: Sheaffer Ringtop
Vintage Pens: 3432 Sheaffer Ringtop
Today's flappers need a cutting edge writing instrument, and we recommend this Sheaffer Ringtop from the Jazz Age. This vintage pen has a floral print on what appears to be a gold-plated overlay. What appear to be the very elegant script initials "V G S" are on the name plate. A little brassing where the cap snugs against the barrel, and a small dent on the edge of the flat tail piece are the worst of the damage to this otherwise excellent pen. The lever dangles a little when the pen is upside down. It has been restored with a new ink sac. The very early original inkfeed and #2 Sheaffer nib write a wet, medium line smoothly. Its nib also has a little FLEX! 9.7cm capped...including the ringtop.
