Vintage Pens: Esterbrook J-9558
Vintage Pens: 3720 Esterbrook J-9558
Remember when the phone company likely was the biggest company in town? Check out this gem of an Esterbrook J-model pen that was once "Bell Systems Property." Look closely under the lever of the pen for the old imprint. We've restored it with a new ink sac, and it looks as if some lucky Bell employee had an upgraded steel 9558 nib. It writes a fine line that sings a little for us. (Kindofa squeaky sound but minimal feedback) The pen was clearly heavily used at Bell Systems. It has no cracks but plenty of scratches. You'll find the clip is on tightly but not 100% flush with the side of the cap. A great daily driver and conversation piece. 12.7cm capped.
