Parker 51 fountain pens are arguably the most universally loved vintage pens on the market. Released in the United States in 1941 and named 51 because they were 10 years ahead of their time, these pens revolutionized fountain pen design. The hooded nibs and massive ink collector system contained within them helped to keep the nibs always wet and ready to write. This burgundy model with a "lustraloy" cap came out some time in the 1950s. It sports the "newer" aerometric filler, a simple, mess-free squeeze-bulb design with a "pliglass" ink sac. (silicone) The amazing things about these ink sacs was that they were designed to last 30 years, but most of them--such as this one--still work after 60 years! Under the hood is a 14k gold nib. You'll write a smooth extra-fine to fine line with it. Mostly just light wear from use. Definitely ready for more active service. 13.6cm capped.
