Vintage Pens: Sheaffer Lifetime Flat Top
Vintage Pens: 4285 Sheaffer Lifetime Flat Top
Fountain Pen Nib Size: Stub
In 1924 Sheaffer Lifetime pens came from a new material called Radite. It was an early celluloid and the first non-hard-rubber pen made by Sheaffer. It also was the first version of the Lifetime pen to carry the famed white dot logo. The earliest of these Lifetime models did not have a serial number on their nibs. It looked exactly like this oversized Sheaffer Lifetime pen...that still has its original price sticker on the flat tail end! YES! This is a New Old Stock Sheaffer Lifetime from 1924 or '25! It does show a little shop wear from having rattled around for 95 years, but it looks amazing, all things considered. We restored this pen with a new ink sac. The rest is all original, no cracks or brassing. Click the headline for a close-up. Its 14k gold nib is also a FACTORY STUB, so says the sticker on the tail! We dipped it, and it writes with nice, subtle line variation. 13.3cm capped.
