Vintage Pens: Sheaffer Univer
Vintage Pens: 4512 Sheaffer Univer
Fountain Pen Nib Size: SF
Something's not quite right here. It looks like a senior flattop Sheaffer Lifetime, but.... It isn't, but it is. Sheaffer wanted to win at every market point for fountain pen and created "sub brands" such as Univer to sell their pens to a cheaper, second-tier pen-buying crowd. Click the headline for close-ups. Note the "Univer" on the same hump clip as a Sheaffer. Note also the style of the lever. ESPECIALLY note the perfection of the pearl and black celluloid! There are only hints of brown discoloration in a limited few locations. Fully restored with a fresh ink sac! Ironically, it is a smaller 14k gold than on a Sheaffer, but it is a more desirable semi-flex nib with a little feedback. One last cool point that you can see: Instead of a white dot on top of the cap, there is a black dot! Museum worthy. 13.5cm capped.
