Vintage Pens: Esterbrook Transition
Vintage Pens: 4571 Esterbrook Transition
Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Updating its very popular Dollar Pen design, Esterbrook embarked on the new Esterbrook J-model series. However, as production wound down for the Dollar pens, the company realized it had more barrels than caps left over. Instead up ramping up a final batch of Dollar Pen caps, it just started using the new J-series caps. As such, in the late 1940s, you had the Esterbrook Transition pens. Our vintage pen is in excellent condition, as it has no cracks or significant traces of wear. We restored this pen with a new ink sac. Best of all it comes with the top-upgrade nib: a steel 9668. It writes smoothly for a medium line that borders on broad. 12.2cm capped.
