Vintage Pens: Sheaffer Vacuum-Fil

Vintage Pens: 4752 Sheaffer Vacuum-Fil
Era: 1930-1939   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $299.99
Technically, this isn't a Sheaffer. Sheaffer released this pen under the sub-brand of Vacuum-Fil in 1934 before it put this experimental model under the main company name. We have never seen a more museum-worthy example! Look at the crisp imprints and phenomenal barrel clarity. The celluloid is still that factory-fresh yellow-green. No cracks or scratches. Possibly a some brassing on the cap band. You can see the little grey spots in the gold-plate in the photo. We were asked to sell this pen by a dedicated vintage collector who said he had the filling system restored. It feels like it works, but we haven't filled it with even water, as we don't want to leave water in it, as it will take ages for it to fully dry out again. Marine green design on a thicker barrel. 12.8cm capped.
