Description
Riding on the coat tails of the Conklin Crescent fountain pen for nearly 30 years, Conklin realized it was losing relevance in the modern market place of the 1920s. In 1924, it launched its modernized pen the Conklin Endura. While most companies had switched to lever-fillers and button fillers, Conklin wasn’t about ready to let go of its original self-filler crescent. As such, the earliest Conklin Enduras came with a crescent filler. Not especially popular on the market, Enduras switched over to lever fillers. That makes these Conklin Endura Crescent pens particularly collectible. Our vintage pen is in surprisingly good condition. There is only a little brassing on the bottom of the pocket clip. Add a little light wear from general use, and this pen looks pretty sharp. You can still see the red paint in the grooves of the pen is mostly present. We restored this Conklin Endura Crescent with a new ink sac. In the process, we noticed the Crescent pressure bar is insanely clean and new looking. We con’t prove it one way or another, but think the bar portion might have been replaced with the crescent reattached to it. You will write a very firm, dry extra-fine line with its 14k gold nib. This is the senior or oversized version of the pen at 14.3cm capped.
