Description

We don’t get too many vintage pens from Denmark, but we just love this coral Penol S.9. We restored it with a new ink sac. If you are thinking, “Wait. Isn’t that a button filler pen just like Parker?” Yes. Yes, it is. The man who created Penol also was the Danish distributor for Parker. He might have borrowed some ideas from Parker. And Parker might not have been wild about it, but they continued working together for some time. Penol S.9 pens were made between 1943 and 1947. We suspect this was a post-war pen, given it has a 14k gold nib. Gold was scarce in war ravaged Europe. We aren’t 100% sure that is the proper tail cap. It might be, as it fits. It just seems a shade too big. You will write a mostly smooth medium line. 12.1cm capped.
