Vintage Pens:
6494 Wahl-Eversharp CA Fifth Avenue Filling Mechanism:
BallpointEra:
1940-1949Price:
$99.99Some pen historians blame the Eversharp CA line of pens for effectively bankrupting the company. Spending millions on the rights to the Biro ballpoint refill patent, the company rushed their ballpoints into production without perfecting their manufacture and use. It also slapped a lifetime warranty on the pens, and nearly all the pens failed, resulting in crippling refunds. This is the Eversharp CA from the Fifth Avenue line, the second model to include a ballpoint design. Click the headline for close-ups. This pen is burgundy with golden trim. It shows light wear but no cracks or dents. The pocket clip jiggles. Notice the coiled refill? It was the company's effort to include even more ink in each pen. We don't think there is a replacement refill that will work in this pen. 13.4cm capped.
Vintage Pens:
6489 Parker Duofold Filling Mechanism:
BallpointEra:
1950-1959Price:
$49.99SOLD!Could this be the first model of ballpoint pen to go by the moniker of Parker Duofold? We think it might be. This is a British production from the 1950, after Parker in the United States discontinued the Duofold name. Instead of a clicker such as the famous Parker Jotter of the same era, this pen's whole cap acts as a clicker. Our vintage pen remains in good working order and comes with a working black Parker ballpoint refill. The photo looks great, but there is a fair amount of surface wear on the pen. No cracks or anything exceptionally ugly. 13cm.
Pre-Owned Pens:
6483 Mont Blanc Classique Solitaire Filling Mechanism:
BallpointEra:
1980-presentPrice:
$499.99SOLD!Luxury finds a definition in this sterling silver Montblanc Classique Solitaire. We love the barley design etched into the silver and the golden highlight rings and pocket clip. Guaranteed authentic, this came from a dedicated MB collector who only bought from Montblanc retail locations in the 1980s, '90s and 2000s. This pen has serial number EG102734 and "metal" written under the clip. The silver shows a little light wear. The worst blemish is a very small ding in the barrel that is hard to see but visible in the photo...in the lower part of the middle of the barrel. Comes with a new blue refill. 13.6cm.
Pre-Owned Pens:
6310 Waterman Carene Deluxe Filling Mechanism:
BallpointEra:
1980-presentPrice:
$149.99Brass-barrel construction and a silver-plated cap offer this luxurious ballpoint pen the weight it needs to write such a smooth line with its ballpoint refill. Our preowned pen looks almost factory fresh...just some light wear from use. Also included are its original boxes and papers. Additionally, you get a great working, blue refill. Twist the tail cap to advance or retract the ballpoint. 13.9cm.
Pre-Owned Pens:
6441 Waterman Rhapsody Filling Mechanism:
BallpointEra:
1980-presentPrice:
$99.99Waterman was already well on its way back as a luxury pen maker when it created the Waterman Rhapsody. This blue-marble ballpoint was part of the upper tier of pens for the company. We replaced the refill with a brand-new blue one. It writes very well, as the brass-barrel construction of the pen gives it a little extra weight, which helps it write more smoothly. Twist the tail cap to advance or retract the ballpoint. You will find some light wear on the pen but nothing egregious. 14.1cm.
Pre-Owned Pens:
6423 Sheaffer Levenger Connasseur Mediterranean Filling Mechanism:
BallpointEra:
1980-presentPrice:
$49.99SOLD!The Mediterranean Sea is the theme for this joint collaboration of the Sheaffer Levenger Connaisseur ballpoint pen. Our ballpoint pen is in good working order with a working blue refill. The tail cap and barrel have some wear from use but no cracks or deep scratches. Twist the tail cap back and forth to advance and retract the refill. 13.7cm.
Pre-Owned Pens:
6383 Parker Duofold Filling Mechanism:
BallpointEra:
1980-presentPrice:
$199.99The rebirth of the Parker Duofold in the late 1980s as a modern pen with a vintage look was absolute genius on the part of Parker. We especially love that they adapted the vintage pencil look for the modern ballpoint pen. Many colors have been made for the newest Duofold line in the past 35 years. However, one of the rarer, and more collectible, colors is this jade green. Only made for a short while, it wasn't very popular with customers at the time. Now, however, it is a special treat for modern Duofold collectors. Our preowned pen show a little wear from use. There is a 1mm hairline crack in celluloid near the pocket clip and a tiny chip missing not far from it where the celluloid meets the metal topper. The twist mechanism works smoothly. We just installed a new blue-gel refill. 13.1cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens:
6323 Mont Blanc Alexandre Dumas Filling Mechanism:
BallpointEra:
1900-1909Price:
$499.99There's nothing like a little scandal to get a pen collector's heart aflutter. This ballpoint version of the Writer's Series Montblanc Alexandre Dumas has the wrong autograph! A mistake at the factory Alexandre's son's autograph on the pen. Given they had the same name, it was an honest mistake. Nevertheless, Montblanc recalled these pens to be replaced with the correct signature. This one, clearly, never got back into Montblanc's hands. It is in great shape, too, with only light wear from use. Twist the tail cap to extend or retract the ballpoint refill. Our refill works and writes a nice blue line. Pen is numbered 08664 of 16000. 13cm.
