Pre-Owned Pens: 6377: Parker: Duofold
If you prefer the smoothness of a fountain pen with the no-hassle ease of a ballpoint, then this luxurious Parker Duofold rollerball might be for you. Rollerball pens are like ballpoints, only they use cartridges with water-based fountain pen ink instead of the oil-based ink refills of a ballpoint. This preowned pen is based on the vintage pearl-and-black Parker Duofolds of the late 1920s. We include a brand-new black refill with the pen. Our pen shows a little wear from use, but it remains in attractive, great-working order. It has a 1994 date code. It is doing great for 30 years old! 13.1cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 6429 Cross Townsend
Filling Mechanism: Rollerball
Era: 1980-present
Price: $75.00
Pre-Owned Pens: 6429: Cross: Townsend
Never underestimate the joy of a Cross Townsend pen. We think these rollerball pens are vastly underrated. Green marble with gold-plated trim looks great. There is light wear on the trim but nothing especially egregious. The worst of the wear is on the nose-cone where the refill emerges. Somehow, some of it has been chewed away. Yes, the metal seems chewed away! Nevertheless, the brand-new refill seems stable for writing. Click the headline for a close-up. 15cm capped.

Pre-Owned Pens: 6433 Cross Townsend
Filling Mechanism: Rollerball
Era: 1980-present
Price: $349.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 6433: Cross: Townsend
Write like an Egyptian. Que the Bangles' hit song. Limited editions are not exactly commonplace in the world of Cross pens. This Cross Townsend is particularly special because it sports a lapis lazuli finish made from the same lapis mines used by the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt. Our preowned luxury pen is in excellent condition. Under a bright light upon very close examination, you can find two scuffs to its finish. HOWEVER, you have to look really, really hard. Otherwise, they are very easy to miss. There is a tiny bit of the metal nose cone's edging that has been eaten away at the very tip, too. We installed a brand new blue Cross rollerball refill, which you can see still has its wax-seal ball. Click the headline for a close-up. 14.9cm capped.

Vintage Pens: 6170 Lamy Safari
Filling Mechanism: Rollerball
Era: 1980-present
Price: $49.99
Vintage Pens: 6170: Lamy: Safari
Yeah. We get it. It feels weird to us, too. But, hear us out. Lamy Safari pens don't generally wind up being called vintage pens. We struggle with defining vintage all the time, as you'll know from our blog and magazine stories. Buuuut, this 2nd gen Charcoal colored rollerball pen was made in "W. Germany." There hasn't been a West or East Germany in roughly 35 years. And this pen was probably made before reunification. Sooo, it ain't exactly new. It is gently used, sports some shallow surface scuffs and scratches and in good working order. It has a dried vintage black refill marked W. Germany. However, we include a new refill, too. 13.8cm capped.

There are a few very short shallow scratches and other marks of light wear. Happily enough, these preowned luxury pens take regular Waterman rollerball refills AND Pilot G2 gel refills. This one sports a blue G2! There is just enough weight in the pen to really make it write smoothly with some gentle momentum. These are among our favorite rollerball pens.
