Filling Mechanism: Rollerball

Building off the nostalgia for the Parker 51, the company launched what they hoped would be a more modern version of the pen in the Parker 100. This set included both the rollerball and ballpoint version of the pens in the original box. To be honest, it is quite possible they were never sold as a set in the box when they first came out, but that is how we found and are selling them. Each instrument looks great and works well. There's a little scuffing from the cap snapping to the section of the rollerball. Otherwise, they are still cosmetically beautiful. Each has its respective working, black refill.

Don't overlook the Cross Peerless 125 rollerball pen as a modern luxury pen. It is a large, rugged, handsome pen that writes as smoothly as any competitor. Marking 125 years since the original Cross Peerless appeared in 1889, this pen features a textured look that is 23k gold plated. A Swarovski crystal serves as the top jewel in the cap. This pen looks great except for a little wear. No dents nor deep scratches. Comes complete with its original box, papers and an acrylic "Cross" pen stand that is a little difficult to see in this image. This pen cost more than $500 when brand new at the original retail store. 14.4cm capped.

American-made luxury pens are a rare treat in modern manufacturing, but this Cross Townsend rollerball pen was a staple of the 1990s. Gold-plated sophistication makes this pre-owned pen a must. Our pen shows some wear from use, but there are no dents, cracks or engravings. The cap has a tight snap closure. We include a free refill with this classic pen. 15cm capped.

Enjoy more than a little class and sophistication when you write by using this Cartier Diabolo rollerball pen. It is a classic black pen with gold-plated trim, which all comes together with its stunning blue topper. Writing is smooth and easy with the large 8126 capless rollerball refill. We include a new black refill with this pen. You might see a little light wear if you look hard enough, but no one will notice it at arm's length. 14.2cm capped.

Pelikan shocked its die-hard customers by eliminating the red-striped design from its line about 10 years ago. Bold, without being gaudy, these pens became a little harder to find, though the company has recently reintroduced the color. This mid-sized R600 model looks about as close to new as you can get. We include a new working refill. The logo sports a golden mama pelican with two chicks on a black background. It comes with its original box. 13.2cm capped.

In the 1990s, Pelikan started having a ton of fun with its standard issue Souverän pen designs. This Pelikan Souverän R730 is an especially nice rollerball pen with a sterling silver cap and tail cap. The tail cap is perfect and there is only one shallow dent in the side of the cap you can see in the photo. Click the headline for close-ups. In real life, you will easily find the dent if you are looking for it, but you will easily miss it, if you aren't looking for it. The rest of the pen comes with minimal light wear from use. You also get a working blue refill with the pen. 12.5cm capped.

Sheaffer's first real hit in the post-Golden Age of pens came in the 1970s with the Sheaffer Targa. Its design screams 1970s and '80s. Bold, modern, a cylindrical body squared off on the top and bottom. Our pen has a matte-black finish with gold plated trim. An excellent rollerball pen, its refill is a real tanker. There is an old refill in it now, but we have just ordered some new ones, which we will include with it, as soon as they arrive. Minimal, if any, wear. 13.7cm capped.

Oh, Milord! You are going to love this great burgundy Omas Milord rollerball pen. It is still such a shame this great Italian penmaker went out of business several years ago. Our preowned luxury pen is in great working order and was given a brand new black, capless rollerball refill. The pen shows only light wear plus a little tarnish or brassing on the exterior trim. No cracks or any significant damage. Looks and works great. Comes with its original box and papers. 13.5cm capped.
