Burgundy with a polished steel cap, it is a handsome pen with only light wear from use and neither cracks nor dents. Its aerometric filler is original and working well. Plus, this pen comes with its original Pilot converter. You also can use Pilot proprietary cartridges. You will write a firm-but-smooth extra-fine line. We also like the blue-jewel accent in the top of the cap. Click the headline for close-ups. 11.8cm capped.

It comes with a box and working (nonoriginal) standard international converter. You will write a dry, extra fine line with its two-tone 18k gold nib. There is a little feedback, but not much. Click the headline for close-ups. The accents around the pen are solid sterling silver. 14.5cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 6526 Wirt Ringtop
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1920-1929   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $69.99
Vintage Pens: 6526: Wirt: Ringtop
Paul E. Wirt pens were the most popular of the late 1800s. They continued on into the 20th century, and this is a Wirt ringtop from the 1920s. We restored this vintage pen with a new ink sac. We also worked to de-oxidize the chocolate hazing. We didn't get it back to perfect black, but it nice and the chasing is clearly visible. You will write a really nice, smooth extra-fine to fine line. It has a tiny bit of flex, but we wouldn't call it a semi-flex nib. No cracks or deep scratches. 11cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 6520 Namiki Pilot Vanishing Point
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $349.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 6520: Namiki Pilot: Vanishing Point
Enjoy the 2006 limited edition Pilot Vanishing Point fountain pen in dazzling "Ice Blue." This preowned luxury pen comes complete with its original boxes and papers. It even has its cartridge cap, in case you want to stop using its working converter and switch over to proprietary Pilot cartridges. A close inspection will show light traces of wear in the ice blue, but no one sitting near you will ever see it. The rhodium trim is a little more scuffed around the nib zone. Marked "F" for a fine point, this 18k gold nib really writes an extra-fine line with a little feedback. Its clam-shell presentation box is fine, but there is some deterioration on the cross strap of the pad upon which the pen rests. 14cm.
Pre-Owned Pens: 6517 Rotring 600
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $299.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 6517: Rotring: 600
It came as a surprise to us to learn that there is a huge difference between the original Rotring 600 fountain pens, such as this one, and the poorly made modern ones. These original ones were very well constructed. There are no cracks or problems with the metal. The cap snaps tightly, and the worst you can say about this pen is that it has a little wear from use. It comes with standard international converter. You will write a firm, dry extra-fine line with its steel nib. There's a little feedback, but not much. Click the headline for close-ups. 13.7cm capped.

Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $99.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 6586: Ranga: Model 3
Handmade in India, this mottled yellow ebonite fountain pen by Ranga is a handsome retro modern writer. Officially it is the Ranga Model 3. It is large at nearly 6-inches long and rather girthy. Looks nearly new. Minimal if any wear. Click the headline for close-ups. Even though the two-tone steel nib is marked F for fine, it seems more like an extra-fine to us. It comes with a Ranga box, too. However, we aren't sure if this is the original box to this pen. 15.1cm capped.
