6465 Small Inkwell Era:
1910-1919Price:
$25.00We aren't really sure how old this delicate little inkwell is. It holds roughly 10mL of ink and was likely from the era of dip pens. Some sort of water corrosion has gotten under the glass topper of the lid and obscured parts of the picture of a building secured within it. The gold plating around the lid structure is mostly gone, but the glass remains in good condition. A nice little curio for thems that likes 'em.

6464 Gold Starry No. 257 Filling Mechanism:
Safety)
Era:
1920-1929Price:
$49.99Nearly mint parts for French Safety Fillers don't come around every day. We have an incomplete pen with this Gold Starry No. 257. There is the cap, barrel, inner part and a tail piece that is not closed on either end. No nib or feed or other missing parts. Sold as is, no returns.

6462 Onoto de la Rue Self Filling Filling Mechanism:
Vacuum FillerEra:
1920-1929 Fountain Pen Nib Size:
SFPrice:
$199.99We don't get many Onoto de la Rue pens on this site. This old black hard rubber pen is a bit of a mystery. We think this vintage pen has an early version of the plunger vacuum filler...similar to what Sheaffer began using in its Vac-fil technology. Our pen is unrestored and not working to fill the pen. No cracks nor deep scratches. Lots of wear from use. The pin strips on the cap and barrel are mostly gone. The two decorative bands on this pen are solid 18k gold. We dipped the 14k gold nib and found it just barely counts as a semi-flex nib working from extra fine to about broad. Don't smush the slip cap on too hard because you will break the slightly too long nib. Click the headline for close-ups. 14.5cm capped.

$2,199.99Hardcore Pelikan collectors, today's your lucky day! Here is a genuinely limited edition Pelikan that is off-catalog from the standard Pelikan fare. The Swiss watch company called Chronoswiss contracted with Pelikan to make a limited edition run of 999 company-themed pens for its very high-end clientele. Thus the Cronoswiss Styloscope pen was born. Our preowned luxury pen is new old stock and complete with all of its boxes and papers. Not only do you get a leather carrying case and mini pad of paper. You get not one but two 18k gold nibs! The nib installed in the pen is a medium point, and the spare nib is an Oblique Broad! The pen has sterling silver trim and is numbered 725 of 999. It is basically the same size as a Pelikan 800. Click the headline for close-ups.

6459 Palmer Method Woodgrain Filling Mechanism:
Lever FillerEra:
1920-1929 Fountain Pen Nib Size:
SFPrice:
$149.99Our Palmer Method Woodgrain pen was undoubtedly sold by or for the school of handwriting also known as the Palmer Method. We have not previously seen a Palmer Method pen that didn't have some other branding on it. We strongly suspect that this pen was made by the Wahl-Eversharp company, but there are no markings to verify that beyond the shadow of a doubt. It just has similar design touches. We restored this vintage pen with a new ink sac. No cracks or deep scratches. There is brassing on the cap bands and lever. You will write a razor-sharp extra-fine line that can flex out to about 1mm. This 14k gold nib is on the stiff side for a semi-flex nib. Click the headline for close-ups. 13.3cm capped.
Vintage Pens:
6450 J.M. Paillard Semper Era:
1910-1919 Fountain Pen Nib Size:
FLEXIPrice:
$199.99French safety fillers are definitely something we know very little about. Click the headline for close-ups. This is a black, hard-rubber pen by the French company J.M. Paillard. It is the Semper model. Most of the chasing and imprint has been worn down. In the right light with magnification we can see the letters "LLARD" at the end of what would have been the imprint. The safety filler mechanism moves freely but doesn't lock. We couldn't test write with the 18k gold nib because it kept sliding back into the barrel. It seems flexible, but 18k nibs are notorious for being easy to "spring" or ruin. There is a really handsome brass after-market pocket clip on the cap. No cracks in the cap or barrel that we saw. Unrestored. Sold as is. 13.2cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens:
6272 Karas Kustoms Vertex Filling Mechanism:
Cartridge/ConverterEra:
1980-present Fountain Pen Nib Size:
XFPrice:
$99.99Glittering yellow dust swirls through the black acrylic of this really stunning Karas Kustoms Vertex fountain pen. Unlike other Vertex pens that we've seen, this one has an amber "jewel" in the top of the pen. We aren't sure if that is from the factory or a former owner's bedazzling. Sporting minimal wear, this preowned pen comes with a standard international converter. You will write a firm extra-fine line with its steel nib. It does have some feedback, as most extra-fine nibs seem to have. 13.5cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens:
6264 Edison Pen Co. Huron Grande Filling Mechanism:
Cartridge/ConverterEra:
1980-present Fountain Pen Nib Size:
StubPrice:
$199.99The Edison Pen Co. started the same year that we did, and it is strange to see their pens come around again on the secondhand stage. They can't be that old! Nevertheless, here is a very handsome Edison Pen Co Huron Grande in a stunning autumnal color they call Sonoran Sunset. That little golden ball on the cap is a "roll stopper." Ours comes with a two-tone steel nib that is 1.1mm wide. You'll find it is a generally smooth nib with some line variation. Minimal wear on the cap and barrel. Includes a standard international converter. It is a huge pen measuring 16.5cm capped.
