Ancora was founded in Bologna, Italy, in 1920. It was a successful European brand that continued through World War II until it was felled by the ballpoint in 1975, when the original company closed its door. However, in 1998 the brand was revived in Turin, Italy, by Giovanni Santini. These days the pen company is known for luxury and limited edition pens.
