Pre-Owned Pens: 2452: Conklin: Durograph
If you like oversized pens but hate the oversized price, you might love this modern Conklin Durograph fountain pen. Look closely and rotate this preowned pen under a light and you'll see brilliant blue "pebbles" in the deeper blue celluloid. Use standard international cartridges on this pen or the converter it comes with. The steel nib is marked medium, but it writes closer to fine when you find the sweet spot. However, when you leave the sweet spot, there's a little feedback. The cap band is silver or silver plated. 14.8cm capped.

Vintage Pens: 2720: Esterbrook: LJ-1461
Are you familiar with blue-black ink? That might be the best way to describe the deep blue of this Esterbrook LJ fountain pen. We've fully restored this beauty with a new handmade J-spring and regular ink sac. It has no cracks but a couple deep scratches on the barrel, along with the usual wear from use. The imprint is still strong. The lever dangles a little when upside down. The steel 1461 nib was advertised as specializing in writing on carbon copies. It has a little downward hook and writes an astonishingly buttery smooth, wet fine line! This is quite possibly the nicest fine-point steel nib you'll ever find on a pen for $29.99. 12cm capped.

Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present
Price: $49.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 2459: Conklin: Ohio
When the Conklin brand was resurrected, the company wanted to pay homage to its roots by naming this model after its original birthplace: Ohio. Our Conklin Ohio fountain pen is a stunning shimmering pearl white and blue swirl design. It is in great condition, too, with only some discoloration on the cap bands and very minimal wear on the cap and barrel. It uses standard international cartridges or converters, but it comes with neither. The steel nib is marked medium and writes a luscious, wet medium line. Very smooth.

Stunning smoky grey rifling on the barrel of this Esterbrook LJ fountain pen is sure to turn heads. Only very light traces of wear can be found anywhere on this fully restore vintage pen. No cracks or deep scratches. Strong imprint. We installed a new ink sac, and this pen is ready for use or display. Pretty impressive for the pen that taught a generation of Americans how to use an ink pen in high school and professional schools in the 1950s. The steel 2668 nib was advertised as an upgraded nib for general writing. We find that it writes a buttery smooth fine-medium line! 12cm capped.

Pre-Owned Pens: 2629: Waterman: LeMan
It is a shame that Waterman discontinued its line of LeMan luxury pens. Elegance and near perfect construction make for a nicely weighted and balanced ballpoint pen. It is wide enough that you can write all day without it being too big or small. We installed a new Waterman refill. It advances and retracts with a twist of the tail cap. 14cm.

Vintage Pens: 2670: Sheaffer: Lifetime Desk Pen
Wide bodied and nicely weighted, this TouchDown filling Sheaffer Lifetime Desk Pen has some gravitas that makes writing even more satisfying. We restored this vintage pen with a new O-ring and ink sac. It is wider than most standard TouchDown pens and Snorkels. Very little wear mars its surface. The two-tone 14k gold nib writes a very nice firm, wet medium line. The ink view window has near perfect clarity. Sadly, we have no base for it. 17.4cm.

One of the most successful models of the 1990s was the Waterman LeMan line of writing instruments. Bold, elegant and authoritative, these items are still in demand. It comes preloaded with spare leads and a hardening, partially used erase. 14.4cm.
