If you are looking for a great basic ballpoint pen, check out this Cross. Wider than a Century model, but more conservative than an ATX, it is just a great daily writer. The working black refill extends and retracts with a twist. Almost no wear. 14cm.
Vintage Pens: 2804 Esterbrook J-9450
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1950-1959
Price: $69.99
Vintage Pens: 2804: Esterbrook: J-9450
Esterbrooks were the pens that taught a generation of Americans how to write. Baby boomers were often required by their high schools or trade schools to use Esterbrook pens. Affordable and attractive, the most desirable aspect of these pens was the fact that the nibs were interchangeable. Unscrew one nib style and screw in a different one for a different task. We restored this full-size ruby red Esterbrook J-model pen with a new ink sac. The vintage pen has some light wear from use, but there are no cracks or serious blemishes. The steel 9450 nib is an upgrade model that writes a reasonable smooth fine line with a whisper of feedback. 12.7cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 2650 Namiki Pilot Vanishing Point
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present
Price: $249.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 2650: Namiki Pilot: Vanishing Point
Almost New Old Stock, this is a prized mustard yellow Pilot Vanishing Point fountain pen. It comes complete with its box and papers. It looks as if someone engaged the cartridge it came with, and that is all the ink it has seen. We flushed it with a sonic cleaning. The only think missing is the converter, but it does have that little metal cartridge cover. The gold nib is marked fine, but it writes like an extra-fine razor blade. 14cm.
Vintage Pens: 2803 Esterbrook J-9284

Era: 1950-1959
Price: $79.99
Vintage Pens: 2803: Esterbrook: J-9284
We're just "Signature Stub" crazy these days! Enjoy this rare steel upgraded 9284 nib on the most popular pen of the 1950s...the Esterbrook J model. Full Esterbrook J's were the widest bodied pen of the Esterbrook line. Our's is a fully restored sapphire blue model. This vintage pen might look on your screen to be two distinctly different blues, but in real life they are only a little more than a shade different. Possibly married. Everything fits very nicely and works well. We installed a new ink sac. The nib is geared more for right-handed people, and it writes a reasonably smoothly with great line variation. No cracks, only light wear. 12.6cm capped.

Pre-Owned Pens: 2649: Pelikan: D800 Souveran
Almost NOS, this Pelikan Souveran D800 pencil is a gem that was made in the mid- to late 1980s. You can tell because it is marked "W. Germany" on the cap band! It has minimal wear. The eraser is hardened and possibly not used. Twist the cap sideways and it advances or retracts the .5mm lead. Comes with an inner and outer Pelikan box. 14.2cm.
Vintage Pens: 2802 Esterbrook Dollar Pen-9284
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1940-1949
Price: $99.99
Vintage Pens: 2802: Esterbrook: Dollar Pen-9284
Stand back. We've got one heckuva Esterbrook Dollar Pen. It is the rarer copper colored version with an even rarer 9284 "Signature Stub" nib! We restored it with new ink sac. The pen has some light wear but no cracks. There's what looks like a drop of clear glue to the right of the lever, but we don't think anyone will notice at writing distance or farther. The imprint is a little faded, but you can read the entire imprint at the correct angle. Speaking of angles, the original 9284 nib is angled more for right-handed folks. It writes a smooth, juicy signature stubby way. We love it. Click the headline for a close-up. 12cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 2648 Unknown Ferrari
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present
Price: $49.99
SOLD!
Pre-Owned Pens: 2648: Unknown: Ferrari
Race into your work week with a Ferrari fountain pen that will lap the rest of the pens in your office. The exterior is red and sleek with only minimal surface wear from use. We aren't sure who makes it. Its imprint says it is made in France. It comes with an empty Parker-style cartridge. This leads us to think it might have been made by Parker's French factory for another company. As far as we know, only Parker and Aurora use Parker-style cartridges. The steel nib writes a medium line. 13cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 2801 Esterbrook 444 Dip-Less Pen
Filling Mechanism: Dip)
Era: 1950-1959
Price: $49.99
Vintage Pens: 2801: Esterbrook: 444 Dip-Less Pen
Give your bed-and-breakfast, church or small business a classic vibe with a dip pen to sign the register. We aren't sure why the Esterbrook 444 desk well set-up was called "dip-less," when it was still a dip pen. However, the dip/holder is an inkwell that keeps the pen wet and ready to fill out a check or other brief writing experience. The glass base is cleaned and has a cork bottom. The black, hard-rubber plate/cover has shallow but obvious wear from past cleanings and such. The photo doesn't show all the mini scratches, but there are lots when you look close. The pen is dip only, and it comes complete with an upgraded 9668 nib that writes a smooth fine-medium line. Complete with original box and instructions!
