Filling Mechanism: Piston Filler
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: B
Price: $199.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 5259: TWSBI: Eco
Our eyes about popped out of our heads when we saw that TWISBI Ecos in transparent orange were limited editions now getting more than $230 on a famed auction site that shall not be named. We offer one such pen here that has been cleaned and readied for a new home. Only light wear on the pen and no internal staining. Click the headline for a close-up to see its "B" steel nib. You will find it to be a surprisingly smooth nib that sings a little as it glide along the page. 13.9cm capped.
Pencil: 5220 Waterman 0721
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Era: 1920-1929
Price: $69.99
Pencil: 5220: Waterman: 0721
Early Waterman pencils are always so neat to look at. This long, slender Waterman 0721 is in surprisingly good shape for 100 years old! Twist the nose cone to advance the 1.1mm lead. It still works well. Unscrew the tail cap to find more old spare leads! The clip and barrel band are gold plated. No cracks or deep scratches mar this black-hard-rubber (ebonite) beauty, but you can see some wear under the clip. Also, sadly, there's some corrosion between the ball and the rest of the clip. Click the headline for close-ups. 13.1cm.
Pre-Owned Pens: 4985 Aurora Ipsilon
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $149.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 4985: Aurora: Ipsilon
Matte orange is both attractive and rare in the Aurora Ipsilon line. Plus, there's the tactile bonus of a lightly textured finish. This set includes both the fountain pen and ballpoint. The fountain pen comes with an Aurora/Parker-style converter. You can also feed it both companies' ink cartridges. There's light wear and a light mark where the cap posts. You can see its steel nib is marked F for fine, but we find it writes closer to extra-fine with a little feedback. Writing is a simple click away with the ballpoint. You'll get it with a super smooth blue gel refill made by Parker.
Pencil: 5184 Sheaffer CB
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Era: 1920-1929
Price: $75.00
Pencil: 5184: Sheaffer: CB
Looking for a great vintage pencil that looks nice but won't make you feel guilty about ruining a museum piece? Check out our Sheaffer CB that is unstickered. Without any dents or deep scratches, it still shows some surface wear from use. Happily, this vintage pencil still works perfectly with a twist of the tail knob. It comes with a 1.1mm lead that extends and retracts. Under the tail knob is a hardened eraser and spare leads. Perfect for crosswords, sudoku, math and great everyday writing. 13cm.
Pencil: 5183 Sheaffer CB
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Era: 1920-1929
Price: $99.99
Pencil: 5183: Sheaffer: CB
Ever wonder what it would be like to walk into an old stationary shop or jewelry store where they sold pens and pencils in the 1920s? Our Sheaffer CB might give you a small taste, as it is still stickered and from a jewelry store that closed in the 1920s! No doubt they intended to sell it and then engrave it. This gold-filled pencil still works and looks brand new, aside from a hint of shop wear, which is pretty amazing for a 100-year-old pencil. Twist the top crown to advance and retract a 1.1mm lead. Pull out the crown to reveal a hardened, unused, original eraser with spare leads beneath it. 12.9cm.
Pencil: 5181 Sheaffer Titan
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Era: 1920-1929
Price: $99.99
Pencil: 5181: Sheaffer: Titan
Oversized Sheaffer Titan pencils seem common on this site, but they are rather uncommon in the wild. Here is a beautiful jade model that is in great working order. It has some scratches on the nose cone, light wear on the barrel and minimal wear on the topper. Maybe a touch of brassing on the pocket clip. The topper does not seem to want to separate from its inner mechanism, which is okay, given there doesn't sound as if there are any spare leads within. Twist the topper to advance and retract the 1.1mm lead that is already loaded into the pencil. 13.4cm.
