Pre-Owned Pens

Nearly identical to its brother, the Montblanc 146, the Montblanc 147 Traveler is virtually the same in design and size. However, unlike a 146, this pen is a cartridge-only filler. The 146 only fills with a piston. Our Montblanc 147 only fills with cartridges on that little converter. You can see the cartridge carriage is removed from the barrel to showcase how it works. You will write a nice medium line with its two-tone 14k gold nib! Minimal wear and it still has a sticker showcasing that the nib is a medium point. Aside from a little blue ink on the nib, we think this pen could be new old stock. Too bad we don't have the original Traveler leather case. Click the headline for close-ups. 14.5cm capped.

Montblanc Starwalker pens broke the luxury pen company's usual mold for daily use pens. We especially love these rubberized models with platinum plated trim. Our preowned pen still looks almost new and feels fresh, without any tackiness to the feel. The only possible flaw to the pen is the engraved "M. Olson" on the pocket clip. We installed a brand-new rollerball refill in blue. One great feature to this pen is that the pocket clip also screws on to the tail to minimize wear. 14cm capped.

When it comes to Montblanc 149 fountain pens, this preowned luxury pen has what most collectors love: a split ebonite feed and two-tone 14k gold nib. Its piston-filler is nice and smooth. This one does not have the brass threads under the blind cap. No cracks nor brassing. There is some light wear from use but no deep scars. You will write a very nice fine line with its gold nib. There's nothing like a little scandal to get a pen collector's heart aflutter. This ballpoint version of the Writer's Series Montblanc Alexandre Dumas has the wrong autograph! A mistake at the factory Alexandre's son's autograph on the pen. Given they had the same name, it was an honest mistake. Nevertheless, Montblanc recalled these pens to be replaced with the correct signature. This one, clearly, never got back into Montblanc's hands. It is in great shape, too, with only light wear from use. Twist the tail cap to extend or retract the ballpoint refill. Our refill works and writes a nice blue line. We love it when modern pens go for a vintage pen look. To celebrate the company's 100th anniversary, the Montblanc 100 Anniversary pens were designed to look like old-fashioned "safety" pens that were similar to the earliest Mont Blanc pens. This ballpoint pen saw a little use and has some light wear...minor scuffs and shallow scratches. Numbered 24398 of 45000, our preowned pen remains in excellent working order. You get a working blue ballpoint refill loaded in the pen. 12.8cm.

Montblanc Starwalker pens really modernized the stale look of Montblanc in the early 2000s. These Rubberized Starwalkers were especially attractive and functional. The slate gray rubberized panels helped to grip the pen and contrasted nicely with the platinum plating. One of the downsides of these pens is that the rubber started getting sticky with time. The GREAT NEWS with this specific pen is that it is still dry and perfect for daily writing. Only light wear on the pen. We love the floating Mont Blanc logo in the tail cap that remains tightly affixed to the pen. Guaranteed authentic. Complete with working blue ballpoint refill. 13.9cm.

Montblanc LeGrand "Document Markers" are somewhat hard to find, but ones in the discontinued "Bordeaux" color are even more difficult to find. Aside from a little light wear from use, our preowned luxury writing instrument looks pretty amazing. This one comes with a working highlighter refill. Guaranteed authentic, this one was made after the invention of serial numbers on the pocket clip band but before "Pix" was written under the cap band. We love these slightly larger sized LeGrands that don't yet cross over into oversized territory. 14.5cm capped.

We have often pondered if the "Great Characters" series by Montblanc was a slightly derisive title for a series of pens based on real people and not fictional characters in a book or movie. However, I think most people would define Andy Warhol as one of the great characters of pop culture, no matter how you define it. Our Montblanc Andy Warhol rollerball pen is in like-new condition and complete with all of its original boxes and papers. Featured on the cap are Warhol's famous Campbell's soup cans.
