Pencils: Sheaffer JASC

Making pencils modern looking and sleek, the Sheaffer JASC was a darling of the 1920s. The coral coloring was part of its appeal, too. Sheaffer considered this a short slender pencil, but it measures 5 1/8th inches long or 13cm. Works perfectly. Twist the golden “crown” on the tail to advance or retract its .9mm lead. Pull off the crown to find a little tube that holds spare leads under the hardened eraser. There is a teeny little dent on the top edge of the crown and a little brassing on the pocket clip. Light wear is visible on the Sheaffer JASC but you really have to look for it. An amazing piece of 1920s technology that works great 100 years after it was made.
