Sleeper hits. When the movie “The Princess Bride” first came out in the theaters, it went largely unnoticed. However, it became one of the most popular movies of its time, after it came out on VHS. That is the story of the Cross Metropolis. When first released in 1995, it was just popular enough to stay in production for a little more than 5 years, or so. The Cross Metropolis featured a great art deco design that wasn’t fully appreciated until a few years ago. Now, more than 20 years after its last pen rolled off the assembly line, these pens have become a cult favorite in high demand. Most of the pens we’ve seen were black-and-chrome, gold-and-chrome and green with one of those two metal bases. We’ve also seen a grey-metal base. This is the first one we’ve had that is blue. This preowned pen also was among the last of the American-made Cross pens. Minimal if any wear. Comes with a working, black Cross ballpoint refill. 13.2cm capped.
