Pre-Owned Pens: Pelikan Toledo M700

Spanish and German craftsmanship find their pinnacle in the Pelikan Toledo M700. The famed Spanish silversmiths of Toledo hand-engrave these intricate barrels that are made of sterling silver coated in 24-karat gold. We think this particular Pelikan Toledo M700 was made in 1990 at the transition from the West German imprinted pens with a monochrome gold nib to the later two-tone 18k gold nibs whose imprint was updated to be from re-unified Germany. Our pen has the West German imprint from the older model and the two-tone nib from the slightly newer version. Our pen is in great condition with only light wear. Its piston works smoothly. You will write a smooth fine line, even though the nib is marked M for medium. However, if you are slow and gentle, you can get a tiny bit of flex with it. The M700 is a 400 size, for those more familiar with the standard Pelikan line. 12.5cm capped.
