Description

Esterbrook taught America how to write with a fountain pen in the 1940s and ’50s. Schools requested students use this brand more than any other. Affordable, attractive and its nibs could be unscrewed and replaced with a large assortment of different point sizes. This Esterbrook SJ was likely from the early to mid-1950s. Its sapphire blue design still looks sharp. Only light wear mars its surfaces. No cracks or deep scratches. We restored this vintage pen with a new ink sac. It comes with a steel 1461, which was originally advertised as being intended for use writing with carbon paper. You will write a firm, dry extra-fine line. However, like all Esterbrook SJ pens, there are about 3 dozen different point sizes you can find and switch out to use. 12cm capped.
