Vintage Pens: Montblanc 252

Description

By the 1950s, Montblanc was on a roll again with improved post-war production. Our Montblanc 252 is a classic in good working order. We like the blue ink viewing window, even it if is a little stained toward the nib. This pen has seen a lot of loving use, as evidenced by the missing plating from the clutch ring and brassing on the bottom of the cap ring. The pocket clip also has a smidge of brassing. Nevertheless, the piston still works smoothly. The piston tail nob is marked EF, meaning the 14k gold nib is an extra fine writer. We would add that it is a bouncy extra-extra fine. Very gentle use of the bounce can give a tiny bit of line variation. Otherwise our Montblanc 252 is an whispy fine with a bit of feedback. 13cm capped.
