Vintage Pens: Parker 51 Signet

Nearing the pinnacle of the Parker 51 line was the Parker 51 Signet. This is an all-metal Parker 51 with 14k gold fill. Our vintage pen is quite handsome. It has a couple of small impressions that might also be seen as very shallow dents. You have to look fairly hard to find them. No brassing. Some light general wear from use. Our Parker 51 Signet sports its original “pli-glass” ink sac, which still works marvelously in the “aerometric” filler unit. The back of the cap has a very handsome signet engraving of the letters “JR”. If it wasn’t so fun looking, it might distract from the pen, but we like it and wonder who JR was. You will write a very nice, wet fine line with its 14k gold nib. No date code. 13.7cm capped.
