Vintage Pens: Parker Duofold Sr. Frankenpen

Some pens get loved harder than others, and they never give up the fight to continue to write. That appears to be the story behind this Parker Duofold Sr. Frankenpen. Who doesn’t love a senior-sized jade Duofold, even with some discoloration. This is a later model with a friction-fit section and later feed. The streamlined blind cap doesn’t exactly fit with the traditional cap. Plus, that blind cap is cracked. The 14k gold nib is a replacement nib from the 1930s. Furthermore, it is a little tweaked and writes a fine line with a little scratch. It writes well, but if you hate scratchy nibs, this isn’t for you. We restored our vintage pen with a new ink sac. Happily, the Parker Duofold Sr. Frankenpen doesn’t have any cracks in the main cap or barrel. There is some brassing. 13cm capped.
