Big changes this year in Chicago! New venue. New management. More entertainment. This year ThePenMarket.com is hosting a Lamy table at the Chicago Pen Show…in addition to its usual vintage/modern pens table. These Lamys are part of the special new nib-testing station for Lamy. Some of you might know that I’m this year’s marketing director…

Wow! What a show this year in Atlanta! Tons of pen lovers, just as many young as old, all sharing in the inky goodness! We had a heck-of-a-time. It was so much fun seeing our old friends like the great Texas pen trader Joe Lowe and making many new friends. And there was so much…

In the next several days we will be taking down Yard-O-Led from our “New” pens pages. It is a shame, as we never fully explored them as we had hoped. There was just too much going on to post all of the available models. Recently, we learned our distributor would no longer carry the brand.…

Be forewarned that Friday looks to be our last day to ship merchandise to reasonably expect it to arrive for Christmas when using first class mail. November has been a crazy-busy month. First, I turned 40 near the start of the month. Friends flew in from Montana, and others locally joined in for much mirth and madness. Here are three trays of new fountain pens for this website. Most of them are already fully restored! The following weekend saw me in…

Due to clever internet criminals figuring out a loop hole in transaction policies, we are forced to change the way we ship overseas. For more than 7 years we proudly offered $15 uninsured global shipping. Everybody knew there was some small risk that the pen would go missing, but it wasn’t a problem. We have…

It has been a while since we updated these pages, but we’ve been extremely busy putting together 3 huge acquisitions of vintage and…

It has taken us nearly a week to recover from the awesomeness that was the Atlanta Pen Show. It was that good. The show was packed with collectors on Saturday and Sunday. We got to meet hundreds of people, and we saw more awesome pens than we could afford. I did come away with a…

One of the coolest parts about owning a pen business is learning about people’s “other” pen collections. Every pen collector has their collection of daily users and museum pieces often built around brands such as Sheaffer, Parker, Mont Blanc and all of the others. But many collectors have special side project collections, too. I love…

We’ve done it! ThePenMarket.com is now a fully licensed and authorized dealer of Lamy and Yard-O-Led writing instruments! When we first launched this business, we figured we’d have a complete assortment of every brand-new modern pen available on the market within 6 months. We also didn’t know jack about anything. Yet, after 7 years of…
