Description
Made briefly in the mid-1940s, the Conklin Glider seemed to be the now-Chicago-based company’s last major fountain pen release. Our Conklin Glider is the oversized model with a wider body and wider cap band. We love the “Matrix” green pattern of the design! There are no cracks or distracting deep scratches. These barely had any plating, and what plating is there is wearing off…but still mostly present. For many, the Cushion Point nib was the otherwise cheaply made pen’s saving grace. The 14k gold nib on this pen might need some further breaking in. You will write a semi-flex line from fine to close to 1mm wide. The tines look even to us, and the tipping is complete, but the nib feels a little scratchy. We can smooth it a bit for you, if you like, but it might broaden the fine-line characteristics to medium. 13cm capped.
