Description
There’s an old Shel Silverstein poem with the line, “Almost Perfect but not quite.” That best describes our Eagle Red End (Long) fountain pen. The chasing on the gleaming black hard rubber and the imprints are so incredibly crisp. No cracks nor any significant imperfections. The metal trim looks a little tired but not terrible. We restored this vintage pen with a fresh ink sac. So what’s the problem? This Eagle Red End (Long) is missing its tail’s red end! I don’t know if we or anyone will find a replacement end for this pen, but the rest of it is so close to perfect that it seems to us someone would still love it in their collection. You will write with some nice line variation with its 14k gold nib. Other pen shops don’t describe nibs this way, which might make it a little confusing, but to us the nib feels a little thin and reedy, which makes it a bit scratchy. Yet, we suspect most people will be interested in this pen for its collectible status. 12.9cm capped.
