Description

Keep a ray of sunshine on your desk with this pen we are calling the Pyralin Big Yellow. The brand is Pyralin, but we have no idea what the model name is. We just like that it is a big yellow pen. We restored this vintage pen with a new ink sac. This is clearly a second or third tier pen, but we wonder if it had some connection to first-tier Wahl-Eversharp. Why? Wahl-Eversharp patented a new type of celluloid called Pyralin in the late 1920s. Our Pyralin Big Yellow sports a 14k gold replacement nib that started as a Parker Duofold nib. It might not have any tipping left, but a past restorer turned it into a surprisingly smooth wet, fine writing tip. It has a hint of an edge on the right and left side. We liked writing with it on a couple dips. The plating is coming off the trim. The cap and barrel show wear from use, but the bright yellow obscures the flaws until you are right on top of it. No cracks or deep scars. 13.8cm capped.
