The elusive purple marble shows itself in this Waterman Phileas rollerball pen. It is a lovely pen from the mid-1990s. The cap and barrel are in excellent condition, with minimal--if any--wear. Its only flaw is a ring around the nose cone of the pen. We include a new refill with your purchase. 13.5cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 6511 Waterman 3V
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1930-1939   Fountain Pen Nib Size: SF
Price: $199.99
Vintage Pens: 6511: Waterman: 3V
We love finding vintage pen packaging. We just discovered this winter scene Waterman box with the pencil below inside of it. The matching Waterman 3V fountain pen was elsewhere in the collection, so we decided to put it all together. The vintage pen and pencil are in remarkably good condition. A little wear and marking from use, but no cracks or long scars. We restored the pen with a new ink sac. You will write a very nice semi-flex line from fine to 1mm wide with its 14k gold nib. The pencil remains in good working order and takes 1.1mm lead. The box is in pretty good condition. The name "Gerard J. Inguagiato" is beautifully written in pencil with a lovely cursive script. Gerard might have been a tween or teen at the time, as his name is repeated in the less confident hand of a younger person still mastering cursive. Click the headline for close-ups.
Pre-Owned Pens: 6586 Ranga Model 3
Filling Mechanism: Eyedropper
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $99.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 6586: Ranga: Model 3
Handmade in India, this mottled yellow ebonite fountain pen by Ranga is a handsome retro modern writer. Officially it is the Ranga Model 3. It is large at nearly 6-inches long and rather girthy. Looks nearly new. Minimal if any wear. Click the headline for close-ups. Even though the two-tone steel nib is marked F for fine, it seems more like an extra-fine to us. It comes with a Ranga box, too. However, we aren't sure if this is the original box to this pen. 15.1cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 6510 Waterman Stalwart
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1940-1949   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $79.99
Vintage Pens: 6510: Waterman: Stalwart
Waterman made a ton of pens in the 1940s that all looked very similar but gave them a ton of different names. We think this is the Waterman Stalwart, but you are welcome to correct us, if we are wrong. Blue flames shoot through its beautiful celluloid cap and barrel. No cracks mar this beauty, but you can see a deep scar made by the pocket clip to the right of the bottom of the clip. There are other signs of wear, and the section has lost all of its luster. We restored this vintage pen with a new ink sac. Its 14k gold nib writes a nice fine, maybe fine-medium line with a little bounce. Not a true flex of any kind, you can get a touch of line variation from it. 12.2cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 6585 Bexley Zoss
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $249.99

Pre-Owned Pens: 6585: Bexley: Zoss
What we love most about early Bexley pen designs is that they took everything that the company loved most about vintage pen design and created a modern luxury pen with it. This pen looks like a Parker Duofold, but with a woodgrain pattern on an orange hard rubber cap and barrel. Parker never had a woodgrain Duofold, but everyone loves the woodgrains of vintage Waterman, making this a perfect marriage of designs. A limited edition numbered 55 of only 100, this pen commemorated the 1000th subscriber to a mailing list or list serve named Zoss in the year 2000. Thus, this is the Bexley Zoss fountain pen. The clip of the pen is solid 10k gold. There are no cracks and minimal wear on the pen. There is a touch of oxidation to the woodgrain. It comes with a standard international converter. You will write an extra fine line with its 14k gold nib. 14.2cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 6509 Wahl-Eversharp Skyline
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1940-1949   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $149.99
Vintage Pens: 6509: Wahl-Eversharp: Skyline
There is something especially attractive about this all-grey with gold trim Eversharp Skyline pen. It is an uncommon color combination, though not impossible to find. This one was restored before it came to us and has a very fresh ink sac. No cracks but a little brassing and some surface wear. The name "Evelyn Williams" is engraved on the side of the pen. Click the headline for close-ups. There are many Evelyn Williams in this world, and we doubt it was the pen of the famous British painter when she was a teenager. You will write a very smooth fine or extra-fine line with its 14k gold nib...depending on how you define the two nib sizes. 12.3cm capped.
