Description

Every once in a blue moon, we find a Sheaffer Vacuum-Fil pen in good working condition. It is a delightful and thrilling moment. We don’t know if this pen was restored in the recent past or not. We are simply happy that it works. These are not easy pens to restore, and we don’t bother restoring them any more. As such, we don’t offer any warranty on this pen. That said, the filling piston feels smooth and strong. We successfully filled the pen several times with water. No cracks but the carmine red cap and barrel show some wear from use. The section grip has lots of little scratches and chips. You will write a smooth fine line with its two-tone 14k gold nib. We suspect that it might need a little breaking in to improve the nib’s performance with fluidity. The barrel imprint is legible. It does not say “Vacuum-Fil,” which might mean this is a Balance with a Sheaffer Vacuum-Fil system. 14cm capped.
