Vintage Pens: Sheaffer Balance 875

Classic design and art-deco styling rock the striated Sheaffer Balance 875 in golden brown. We restored this vintage pen with a new ink sac. Overall, it is really good shape. No cracks and only little wear. It has a touch of brassing on the ball of the clip and spots on the cap band. Sheaffer Balance 875 isn’t really the full model name. The 875 stamped on the barrel is actually the original price of the pen. In its day, this long slender pen was quite expensive. Its two-tone 14k gold nib is an ultra-extra-fine accountant nib. Better yet, we find that it is actually fairly smooth in our hand. That is a rarity for such a sharp, pointy nib…at least to us. 13.8cm when capped.
